How Wrexham are Redefining What it Takes to Build a Football Club - Shaun Harvey Exclusive

Former CEO of the Football League and now executive director at Wrexham, tells Rich and Rob that the impact owners have on a football club can't be measured in pounds and pence.

Few people in football know the inners workings of a modern football fairy tale as intimately as Shaun Harvey. The former CEO of the Football League had acted as an adviser to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at Wrexham since February 2021, and was appointed as an executive director at the Racecourse Ground in December 2023.

Now, in an exclusive interview with Rich and Rob, he gives us the lowdown on the impact the club’s U.S. owners have had on the newly promoted Championship club. He also discusses why he can’t ever see regular league fixtures being played in the U.S. but can see a time when Carabao Cup games are. In a wide-ranging interview, he also says that English football already has an independent regulator in the form of the FA, and airs his views on parachute payments.

Enjoy.
